The Research Grant Programs of NNF advance neuroscience nursing through research. Funds are available to support research projects that evaluate new modes of therapy, contribute to the scientific knowledge base of neuroscience nursing, and contribute to the quality of patient care.

Integra Foundation NNF Research Grant Award

• Award: $10,000

Congratulations to Lauren Thorngate, recipient of the 2009 Neuroscience Nursing Foundation Research Grant supported by the Integra Foundation of $9,988 for her proposed study: "Effect of Opioid on Premature Infant Brain Function Measured by Limited Channel EEG." Lauren is a clinical nurse specialist at the University of Washington Medical Center.

NNF Travel Grant Program

Through the NNF Travel Grant Program, NNF awards monies to Neuroseince Nurses to attend the AANN and CANN Annual Meetings in the Spring. Award monies can be used towards any direct expense that will assist the member in attending the meeting from registration to airfare to hotel accommodations.
